Joe and I got a new digital SLR camera for each other for Christmas. We've always liked our digital point-and-shoot camera, but since Grace's arrival, we've wanted to improve the quality of our home photos. Also, the engineer in both of us just loves getting a new tech gadget and learning everything we can about it. After a lot of research and advice from friends we decided to go with the Cannon Rebel T1i. We started out with 2 lenses: an everyday lens with zoom (17-85mm, f/4-5.6) and a lens for indoor use with low lighting (50 mm, f/1.8). One day I'll understand what all those numbers mean. :) With Joe being home for the next 2 weeks, the camera arrived at the perfect time. We're spending our free time famalarizing ourselves with the basics and taking lots of photos along the way.
So far, we LOVE the camera! We have 2 great subjects in-house to take pictures of: Jack and Grace. Here are a few of our photos from around the house the past few days.
