Weekend Fun

We've had a great time during our first week in New York!

Yesterday, we went to AsiaFest at South Street Seaport (across the river from Brooklyn Bridge) and watched several Asian dance performances. This was the view from our lunch table!

As we made our way back home to the Upper West Side, we stopped at Rockefeller Center and visited the new Apple Store (it seems like everyone in the city has an ipod).

Clockwise from top left: Apple store from above (the entire store is below the glass cube), Hannah jammin', glass stairs leading into the Apple store, Joe loving the noise-canceling headphones.

This weekend is the 20th anniversary of the "Bang on a Can Marathon." Local musicians gather for impromptu percussion performances all over the city. During an evening run in Central Park we stopped to listen to 10 drummers ad-lib a great new beat.

This is the perfect image of life in Central Park: the peacefulness of an evening around the Pond, with city skyscrapers in the background.

We took some video footage of our weekend and I'll post an updated video soon.

Love,
- Hannah
