Sailboat Basin

On weekends, a shallow pond in Central Park is full of remote controlled miniature sailboats. Simple boats are available for rent, but locals bring their own more elaborate boats like the one in the picture below. Adjusting the sails using the remote control causes the boats to pick up the slight breeze and glide along the water.

Full from this week's brunch, we settled into a bench in the shade to watch the boats. Here's Joe next to some sailboat regulars. The man in the green hat is controlling the sailboat in the above picture. These men told funny stories loud enough for all of us to hear. You could tell they were regulars to Sailboat Basin.
