"Jesus Loves Me" and Daniel's Giggles

Here's what's been going on around our house lately.

Grace is getting so clear and articulate in her speaking. She's moved from using 1 or 2-word phrases to full sentences and conversations in the last 4 months since Daniel was born. This week some of her conversations include things like...

• That's Momma's toothbrush. (she loves to identify an object and its owner)
• Kaylee is at Kaylee's house. (we talk a lot about friends and family, and where they are at that moment)
• Bye, bye, Daddy. See you tonight. Daddy will be home soon. (Daddy and his coming and going is a big topic of conversation)
• (To Daniel) Hey sweet boy. Did you have a good nap? (she must hear me say this)
• Go to the zoo today? (which is her way of asking what we're going to do today...maybe it'll include going to the zoo!)

Grace has always enjoyed music, but recently, she's enjoyed dancing and singing. The music-lover in me is SO EXCITED to share this part of my life with her. We sing off and on all day, play the piano together, and crank up the ipod and dance. Often when we finish singing Grace says an enthusiastic, "THAT'S MUSIC!". It's enough to make this Mama's heart melt. Here's a video of us singing Jesus Loves Me. It takes her a few tries to get going.

Daniel is growing so much, and his little personality is coming through. He's becoming more flexible with his eating and napping schedule, which makes our days much smoother. He's VERY strong! Already rolling front-to-back (5-1/2 weeks) and back-to-front (3-1/2 months). He even has started to army crawl a short distance to reach a toy. He actually enjoys tummy time. :) I anticipate he'll be an early crawler, which is ok by me. A few things about this stage with Daniel are...

• Even though Daniel is flexible with some things, he does not like Grace interrupting his nursing time. He likes to eat in a quiet room, just the two of us. If he's hungry, he'll eat in a noisy place, but I can tell he's not happy about it!
• Daniel loves the pool! We go in the evenings when it's in full shade. He splashes and kicks and wears himself out. It's a fun time for all of us.
• Daniel clearly enjoys having Grace around. He gives her big smiles and coos. They are developing a sweet relationship.
