A Visit from the Wynns

Hannah's parents came for a weekend of non-stop activity in New York. Here are a few highlights from our fun visit.

An inexpensive bike rental is a great way to see the city. We rode from the Upper West Side south to Battery Park (downtown), then circled Central Park. Bike riding also kept us cool in 90+ degree sunshine.

Although we've seen the Statue of Liberty from Downtown Manhattan, this was our first trip to Liberty and Ellis Islands. Liberty Island holds the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island was a key spot for immigrants entering the US from 1892-1954. We tried to find "Wynn" and "Muchnick" relatives that came through Ellis Island, but didn't find any matches right away.

The best way to take in all of Manhattan at once is with a helicopter ride! Dad and Hannah circled the island for some breathtaking views. The city seems so quiet and orderly from the air!

An aerial view of Manhattan taken from our helicopter flight. Way cool.

We had to pay one last visit to our favorite pizza place in Brooklyn--Grimaldi's. Here are the Wynns crossing the Brooklyn Bridge on foot, working up a big pizza lunch apatite.

On Sunday, we went to the noon service at the Brooklyn Tabernacle. The choir was large and had a rich , powerful sound. The locals at church were so sweet and welcoming--full of God's love.

One more week in New York!
