Family Visit

Last week, we had such fun with family who came for a visit in New York! During the week Hannah's mom (Anna) and sister (Emily) explored the city, while Ed (Emily's husband) joined us for the weekend.

Here are some of the week's highlights.

A clear day and cool breeze made standing in line at the Empire State Building well worth the wait. We took the elevator to the open-air observation deck on the 86th floor. Armed guards are stationed all around the deck for everyone's protection.

The Today Show tapes live weekday mornings at Rockefeller Center. By getting to the show just as it finished, we were able to see the hosts up-close and watch all that goes into taking down the set.

We enjoyed two shows--The Lion King on Broadway and Cinderella preformed by the American Ballet Theatre. Even though these are both Disney stories, the performances were so different!

We cheered on the Yankees at Saturday's game against the Angels. It took 13 innings for the Angels to win (2-1). We left after the 8th inning. (Joe is probably the only one in our group who would have wanted to see all 13 innings!)
